Hyatt Place Page / Lake Powell is the best choice for mid-range travelers who want reliability, free breakfast and a clean modern room without paying resort prices. It is the only major loyalty brand hotel in Page and the closest major hotel to both Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend.

Page, Arizona has about 15-20 hotels. Most of them were built in the 1990s or early 2000s and show their age. The Hyatt Place, opened in April 2018, is the newest mid-scale build in town by a clear margin — and it reads that way. The lobby is open, modern and two stories tall with floor-to-ceiling windows. The rooms are large by Arizona highway standards.

It is not a luxury hotel. There is no spa, no concierge experience, no poolside service. If you want the most memorable stay in the region, that is The View Hotel inside Monument Valley or the lakefront option at Wahweap. But for a clean, comfortable, well-located base camp to run day trips to Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend, the Hyatt Place is the right pick at its price point.

The hotel was the first Hyatt-branded property in all of Northern Arizona when it opened. It is managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts.

The free breakfast: what is actually included

Yes, Hyatt Place Page includes a free hot breakfast every morning for all guests. It is a genuine buffet — not a grab-and-go bag. Hot items include cage-free eggs, oatmeal and fresh fruit. It is consistently the most praised feature of the hotel across every review platform.

The Gallery Kitchen Breakfast is served daily in the ground-floor dining area. The spread includes hot items (cage-free eggs, omelets on request, hot entrees that rotate), fresh fruit, steel-cut oatmeal, Greek yogurt, pastries and juice. Coffee is available from the Coffee to Cocktails Bar, which carries Starbucks offerings alongside specialty drinks, beers, wines and cocktails.

A 24/7 Gallery Market is also available for late arrivals or early departures — it stocks sandwiches, salads and snacks prepared fresh, available around the clock. There is no traditional room service but the market covers the gap.

Breakfast quality is a consistent theme in guest reviews: "El desayuno era excelente, súper variado y riquísimo," wrote one Spanish guest. "Breakfast is good — with fresh berries and omelette," noted another. It is not a continental spread — it is the full Hyatt Place hot breakfast that the brand is known for.

Rooms: what is inside and what to expect

Rooms are 28 m² (300 sq ft), spacious by highway hotel standards, with a separate work area and the Hyatt Place signature Cozy Corner — a sofa-sleeper that accommodates a third guest. All rooms include a king or double bed, flat-screen TV, desk, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and full bathroom with bathtub and shower.

The Hyatt Place format separates sleeping and work zones in each room. The Cozy Corner sofa-sleeper is a standard feature across all room types, meaning a room with a king bed can comfortably sleep three. A room with two queen beds plus the sofa-sleeper can accommodate five — one group mentioned doing exactly that.

Amenities in all rooms: flat-screen TV with cable and streaming access (Netflix), mini-fridge, microwave, coffee/tea maker, desk, blackout curtains, hairdryer, iron/ironing board, and free Wi-Fi throughout. Rooms are non-smoking. The hotel has elevator access to all floors.

Views from the upper floors overlook the canyon walls and the red rock landscape surrounding Page. Some rooms face Glen Canyon Dam — worth requesting at check-in if available.

Pool, gym and outdoor fire pits

The outdoor pool is open seasonally, typically May through September. It has views over Glen Canyon. The gym operates 24 hours year-round. A patio with fire pits is open in the evenings — one of the more pleasant features of the property.

The outdoor pool sits on the property with direct views over the canyon landscape. It is a standard outdoor hotel pool — not a resort-size affair, but perfectly adequate for cooling off after a day in the desert heat. Pool chairs and towels are provided. Heated in shoulder season, open-air in peak summer.

The 24-hour fitness center has cardio equipment with individual LCD touchscreens and free earbuds at each station. It is small but functional, with enough equipment for a decent morning workout before heading out to the canyons.

The patio fire pits are available in the evenings. Sitting outside at dusk watching the canyon walls change color while the temperature drops is one of the understated pleasures of staying here. Page evenings cool off significantly even in summer, making fire pit time genuinely enjoyable.

Prickly Pear restaurant: worth eating at?

The on-site restaurant is called the Prickly Pear. It specializes in American food and is open for lunch and dinner (breakfast is handled separately through the Gallery Kitchen). The menu is standard American fare — burgers, sandwiches, salads and a few Southwest-influenced plates.

Guest reviews are mixed. The food is consistently described as decent but not special: "My wife and I ate at Prickly Pear — it was fine." Given that Page's restaurant options are limited in general, having an on-site option is useful. Location: distance from every attraction

The Hyatt Place sits on N Navajo Dr in Page, roughly 4 miles from Upper Antelope Canyon, 5 miles from Horseshoe Bend, and 6 miles from Glen Canyon Dam. It is the most central mid-range hotel for running multiple day trips without repositioning.

The main Antelope Canyon staging areas — for both Upper and Lower — are about 4 miles northeast of the hotel along Navajo Route 222. Tour operators pick up at their own staging areas, not at the hotel, so you drive yourself to the staging lot and join the tour from there.

For Horseshoe Bend, take US-89 south for about 5 miles. The trailhead is well marked. The $10 parking fee applies. Plan 30-45 minutes for the out-and-back hike to the overlook.

Page Rim Trail: the 10-mile loop from the hotel

The Hyatt Place is adjacent to the Page Rim Trail, a 10-mile loop that runs along the rim of the Manson Mesa on which Page sits. The trail offers views of Lake Powell, Glen Canyon and the surrounding canyon country — a genuine scenic hike that most guests never know is there.

The trail is non-technical, mostly flat, and suitable for early morning or evening walks. Trail conditions vary seasonally; the surface is packed dirt and sandstone. Bring water regardless of season — the desert sun is intense even when temperatures feel moderate. A short out-and-back section of 1-2 miles is enough to get canyon views without committing to the full loop.

What is the difference between a Hyatt and a Hyatt Place?

Hyatt Place is Hyatt's select-service brand — larger rooms and free breakfast, but no full-service amenities like room service, spa or concierge. Full-service Hyatt and Park Hyatt hotels are a tier above in both price and amenity level. In Page, AZ, there is no full-service Hyatt, making the Hyatt Place the top Hyatt option in town.
